Not thick like freezer bags (thin, actually) but they’re VERY useful for storing items like shoes or sweaters or any light clothing items (as long as you use common sense) and don’t overstuff them or try to fit a heavy coat in there. That said, I’ve rolled and folded rain jackets and light down jackets and they fit perfectly. ALL of our ski stuff is organized in these bags - his thermals/her thermals - his gloves/her gloves - his socks/her socks, etc., then into the storage container. I also use them to shake up large salads, coat chicken, and store cookie dough in the freezer. Recently, I traveled with dressy shoes, a long evening gown and all accompanying undergarments in three of these separate bags stacked in my carry-on for a flight - perfect. I have all the crayons in one, beads and such in another, small stuffed animals in yet another, etc., and they’re all in a big basket on the bottom of the toy closet. Again, if you don’t overstuff them, they’ll be fine. I wouldn’t put heavy bottles of liquids in them, especially if you’re traveling, but I’ve never had an issue with the new small liquid regulation travel containers of shampoo and hand sanitizer and such. Put ALL your chargers, cords, headphones, back up batteries and cellphone doo-dads in one, put it in a drawer for home use, then throw it in your carry-on. Last year I had to pack up boxes (and suitcases) to send things to a summer home and these bags were ESSENTIAL. They may not be perfect for every single one of your household needs because they’re not very thick but…. they’re not supposed to be! Everything has a purpose and these bags rock. I don’t use a sledgehammer to smash garlic, and I don’t use these bags to store comforters for the winter. “To everything, there is a reason,” and I definitely recommend these.In regards to traveling, durability and sturdiness, this product has been GROSSLY OVERSTATED by the manufacturer. The plastic is paper thin and the zip is a micro-zip. This product is good for storing potato chips and cookies,...items of an extremely lightweight nature.
