We travelled to Hawaii. This product compresses into a compact case so you can pack it in your checked baggage. Why? Because you can fill it up with souvenirs on vacation and then use it as a carry on for the plane. This will save you from having to pay for an overweight bag or having to pay for a second checked bag. I should have bought two of these and will purchase on for my spouse before our next trip.This did not pass personal item for American Airline or Spirit. I didn't even overly stuff the bag and didn't put anything in the outside compartment. As you can see on picture, I even have plenty breathing room. This cost me lots of money because it didn't fit. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTEDI cannot comment on the water resistance because I did not get it wet, But these worked perfectly for clothes and shoes for one week down the shore on Spirit Airlines as a personal item. I was able to fit a ton of stuff especially clothes with a vacuum pack bag.I purchased this in a hurry before a flight and regret it. I wish I had ordered with enough time before my flight to find something else. It has held up okay as a personal item (only 50-75% full) but isn't comfortable and not that functional. The shoulder strap is cheap material, almost plasticy and painful after some time. It might work ok as a small, general weekend bag but I wish it had more pockets.It was durable for the airport and held atleast 6 outfits 3 sandals and toiletries. It passed Frontiers test of personal item bag so it was great.It is perfectly fits Spirit airline standardThis bag holds a lot with space for more. Packed 5 days of cloths one pair sandals and a pocket book.It fit perfectly under seat on Frontier with room to spare was amazed. It eliminated carry on fees.But…… upon arrival I unzipped the pouch that it refolds back into and cheap plastic zipper broke.I will be returning it once I fly back home. Sadly this happened because if they correct the problem (cheap plastic zipper) this is an outstanding productGreat for traveling, a lot of space, great material, but if full, will not fit in the Frontier personal item box.
